Waste clearance and property clear-out

Clear the space without the hassle

Waste clearance is for when you need items gone: old furniture, garden waste, loft contents, garage clear-outs, or a full property emptied before a sale, tenancy change or renovation.

Unlike a skip you fill yourself, we do the lifting. Tell us what needs collecting, where it is, and any access notes. We come back with a clear quote based on volume and disposal requirements.

When people book waste clearance

These are the situations we handle most often. If yours sounds similar, send the details for a quote.

Moving out: items left behind

You’ve moved but there’s still furniture, boxes or rubbish at the old address. We clear what’s agreed and leave the property ready for handover or sale.

House clearance after bereavement

Clearing a property after a loss needs sensitivity and efficiency. We work to your timeline, removing agreed items and leaving the space tidy.

Landlord void property clearance

Previous tenants left belongings or rubbish. We clear flats and houses so you can re-let or sell without delay.

Decluttering and loft or garage clear-outs

Years of accumulated items in a loft, garage or spare room. We remove everything agreed. You don’t need to sort it into a skip yourself.

Pre-renovation clearance

Emptying rooms or a whole property before building work starts. Old kitchens, bathrooms, flooring and general waste removed in one job.

Single bulky items

One sofa, mattress, wardrobe or appliance you can’t get to the tip. Quoted on the item, access and your location.

How waste clearance works

Same clear process as our removals jobs, without vague estimates or surprise charges on the day.

Tell us what to clear

List the items or describe the space ("full 2-bed flat clearance" or "sofa, mattress and 10 bags"). Photos help us quote accurately, especially for larger jobs.

Get a clear quote

We review volume, access (stairs, parking, narrow doors) and disposal requirements, then reply with a price you can act on. If anything’s unclear, we ask before quoting.

We collect and dispose

On the agreed day, the team clears what’s in the quote, loads the van, and disposes of waste responsibly. The space is left tidy and ready for its next use.

House clearance service

House clearance vs waste clearance: what’s the difference?

Waste clearance usually means removing specific items or a defined volume: a sofa, garden waste, or a room’s worth of belongings.

House clearance means emptying most or all of a property, often before a sale, after a tenancy, or following a bereavement. It’s a bigger job quoted on room count and contents.

Not sure which you need? Describe the property and what’s inside when you enquire. We’ll tell you how we’d approach it and quote accordingly.

What we typically collect

Send a list or photos if you’re unsure and we’ll confirm before quoting.

Furniture

Sofas, beds, wardrobes, tables, chairs, desks and flat-pack units. We handle disassembly if needed for access.

Appliances

Fridges, washing machines, cookers and smaller white goods. Let us know if anything needs special disposal.

General household waste

Bags of rubbish, mixed household items, boxes and clutter from clear-outs. Volume quoted upfront.

Garden and outdoor items

Garden furniture, shed contents, green waste and outdoor equipment. Access and volume affect the quote.

“We were screwed over by a different company and reached out to RP removals. They were fabulous. They picked our furniture after we were left in the lurch and were exceptionally professional and courteous.”

“Nothing was too much trouble for them. They were efficient, polite and respectful. They went the extra mile to ensure furniture was where we wanted it. We would thoroughly recommend them.”
Maggie Stanforth Trustpilot · Jun 2021
“Just moved with RP. Good price, not the cheapest we found but toward the lower end. Team were very, very helpful in the office prior to moving day. Vlad and the team packed without issue.”

Waste clearance: common questions

What customers ask before booking a clearance.

Waste clearance and property clear-out
How is waste clearance priced?

We quote based on volume, the type of items, access to the property, and disposal requirements. Photos and a brief description usually give us enough to quote. For full house clearances we may ask a few follow-up questions.

Do I need to be present on collection day?

Someone needs to provide access and confirm what’s being taken. You don’t have to stay for the whole job if access is arranged and items are clearly marked or listed.

Can you clear a property in one day?

Most flat and house clearances are completed in a single visit. Larger properties or heavy contents may need longer. We’ll confirm in the quote.

What can’t you take?

Hazardous materials (asbestos, certain chemicals, medical waste) need specialist disposal. Tell us if you’re unsure about any item and we’ll advise before quoting.

Can clearance be combined with a home move?

Yes. Many customers book a move and a clearance at the old address. Items going to the new home are moved, the rest is cleared. Mention both when you enquire.
